OverlayGG is sold and distributed exclusively on Steam. Open the Steam store page, obtain access through Steam, and install it from your Steam Library. Steam also delivers application updates.

Steam classifies OverlayGG as Software, not as a game. If your Steam Library is filtered to show only Games, OverlayGG may not appear even after you purchase or install it.

In the Steam client, open your Library, open the library filter or category menu, and enable Software. Clear any other active filters or collection selections, then search for OverlayGG. If it still does not appear, make sure Steam is signed in to the account that purchased or redeemed access to OverlayGG.

OverlayGG runs as a separate desktop process and does not modify a game's files or memory. Anti-cheat policies and behavior vary by game and can change without notice, so we cannot guarantee compatibility with a particular title. Check the publisher's current rules if you are unsure.

Use OverlayGG with anti-cheat-protected games at your own risk. Safe Mode is an ordinary desktop window, not an anti-cheat bypass. If the normal overlay is not visible, try borderless/windowed mode or place OverlayGG on another monitor. See section 4 of our EULA for full details.

Safe Mode is a built-in OverlayGG setting that runs the app as a regular resizable Windows window with a title bar instead of a transparent, always-on-top overlay. It is a fallback for setups where the normal overlay is not usable.

Because it's just a plain window, Safe Mode cannot draw on top of your game — so it is not a fix for fullscreen or anti-cheat games. For those, keep the normal overlay and use a second monitor, or switch the game to borderless/windowed mode.

Toggle it in Settings → Safe Mode. The app will prompt you to restart. (Previously called "Window Mode.")

Start with an active internet connection, make sure the Steam client is running, and sign in to the Steam account entitled to run OverlayGG. Launch OverlayGG from that account's Steam Library. Desktop authentication normally completes automatically. If the app shows a sign-in screen, use Sign in with Steam as the fallback. If it still will not connect, restart Steam and OverlayGG, then email support@overlaygg.com with the exact error message.

Yes. OverlayGG needs an active internet connection to authenticate access and load guides, notes, favorites, and settings from the service. The application shell may open while offline, but the guide service is not designed for offline use.

Check the following:

• The OverlayGG icon should be in your system tray (bottom-right corner of Windows). Right-click it and choose "Show" if hidden.
• Press F4 — that's the default global hotkey to toggle the overlay.
• Some exclusive-fullscreen configurations can prevent desktop overlay windows from appearing above a game. Try borderless windowed or windowed mode in the game's display settings, or keep OverlayGG on a second monitor. Behavior varies by game, version, graphics settings, and system configuration.

Some Minecraft Java display configurations use exclusive fullscreen, which can prevent desktop overlays such as OverlayGG from appearing above the game. Behavior can vary by Minecraft version, graphics setup, and display settings.

If you have a second monitor, move OverlayGG there. To use both on one screen, first switch Minecraft out of fullscreen and use a windowed or borderless configuration:

• Drag OverlayGG to a second monitor — the simplest option if you have one. Keep OverlayGG in its normal overlay mode; nothing in the game needs to change.
• Press F11 in-game to switch Minecraft out of fullscreen, then drag the window to fill your screen.
• Optionally consider the third-party BorderlessMining Fabric mod, which offers a borderless-fullscreen mode.

Third-party tools can change or stop working. We are not affiliated with their authors and do not warrant or support them.

First look for a "Borderless Windowed" or "Windowed" option in the game's display settings. If the game has no suitable option, use OverlayGG on a second monitor. You may also evaluate a third-party window-management utility such as Borderless Gaming, but compatibility is not guaranteed.

OverlayGG is a separate desktop process and does not modify game files or memory. We are not aware of or able to guarantee every publisher's current policy toward third-party desktop overlays. Policies and anti-cheat behavior can change, so check the game's current rules before using OverlayGG if you are concerned.

Games change. A guide that's perfectly accurate today can become outdated when the developer releases a balance patch, a content update, or a major rework. We do our best to keep popular guides current, but we cannot guarantee that every guide reflects the very latest patch.

If you spot a wrong or outdated guide, click the flag icon inside the guide to report it — that's the fastest way to get our attention. Guide content is informational only and is not a substitute for your own judgment. See section 9 of our EULA.

Like any desktop application, OverlayGG uses memory, CPU, and graphics resources. The impact depends on your hardware, drivers, display setup, and other software. If you notice a performance change, try reducing the overlay's window size, closing other overlays, or moving OverlayGG to a second monitor.

Refunds for OverlayGG purchases on Steam are handled exclusively by Steam under the Steam Refund Policy. We do not separately process refunds for Steam purchases.

Not at this time. Steam handles refund eligibility under its current Steam Refund Policy; approval is determined by Steam.

OverlayGG is Windows-only at launch. Mac and Linux support are not currently planned for V1.

In OverlayGG, open Settings, choose Delete saved data, and complete the confirmation. This removes your OverlayGG profile and user-scoped saved data without affecting your Steam license. You can also email support@overlaygg.com with the subject line "Account deletion request" and include the Steam ID for the profile. See section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
